Teetotal Journey Posted on Wed, October 10, 2018 14:20:46

I think this is last post to come under the “Detoxing” title because;

I AM FEELING FABULOUS!

Sleeping soooooo well.

Waking up early energised and raring to go.

Concentration is up.

I am Focused.

I have LOADS more energy (heaven forbid, poor John) (I’m talking DIY here folks).

I’m sure I must have more money but it’s hard to tell.

LOVING LIFE.

Check me out yesterday 6.30am.

Learning Yoga. Making up Sun Salutations. Practice makes perfect. smiley

Detoxing 06.09.18 – 26.09.18

Teetotal Journey Posted on Mon, October 08, 2018 11:02:02

A few days after the last post the itching came back for a couple of days!! So annoying, especially at night times but I am very pleased to say that all appears to have calmed for good on that front. The last push from the Liver smiley

I have been mainly experiencing a heavy cold; lots of coughing, mucus, headaches, sinus issues….. It is;

A) To be expected at this time of year, as Summer slips seamlessly into Autumn your system likes to a good cyclical respiratory clear out but double whammy for me because;

B) Once detoxing is well under way and your body is not fully focused on the immediate incoming toxic load, it can begin to clear out toxic debris that has built up over time, as I am sure it has done being a social smoker for years smiley

And also:

C) Children have just returned to school and love to share the Germy Love – Good for Immunity, bad for general levels of healthy calm in the house. I have been busy boosting us all up on our lovely Homeopathic Remedies:

Everybody should have the 36 Basic Remedies kit in their homes. Contact Helios and request the Blue 36 Remedy Kit and they will send it out ASAP. It comes with an awesome instruction book so you know what to take, how to take etc:

and all natural Remedies made by our Medical Herbalist friend Rachael.

All in all though, feeling pretty good, it is great to know that my system has enough vitality to be able to throw a Healing Crisis and that because of this, my system is becoming cleaner and clearer by the day smiley.

Detoxing 28.08.18 – 06.09.18

Teetotal Journey Posted on Thu, September 06, 2018 16:26:35

AWESOME! I have completed another 10 days of absolute teetotalism smiley

Am very happy to say that the itching stopped a few days after the last post. I have ENERGY. I am sleeping quite well. Am loving going to bed with a good book or a snuggle up to watch a good movie (which I never see the end of), I do seem to be waking very early though. Not that I mind, I use the time productively (social media marketing smiley). I am exercising like a demon: cycling, walking, yoga & rafting;

This appears to be speeding up the detox process in comparison to other times when I have not exercised as much during this period. My amazing skin is helping to release said toxins and as a consequence, I do look a bit spotty smiley. I am also achy; but in a good way. My focus is returning with epic enthusiasm, am literally brimming over with ideas. My lovely family and patients are bearing the brunt of this as I literally cannot press home to them enough how fantastical all my ideas are…….I may be riding the pink cloud at present; hope not to crash too soon smiley. There is literally not enough time for EVERYTHING I wish to do. Happy Happy.

Detoxing 18.08.18 – 28.08.18

DETOXING!!!!

The start of something EPIC smiley

Porlock Weir – Lynmouth 15.08.18

Symptoms in chronological order:

* Anxiety – What have I set myself up for? Can I do it?

* Fear – Fear of not drinking again…. What will I do to socialise and relax?

* Poor Concentration – System has been thrown out of whack….finding it hard to focus .

* Poor Memory – My neurotransmitters have been working under particular conditions for eons and now I expect them to immediately adapt and continue to function as normal…. be patient.

* Fatigue – Change requires energy. Honouring my system with early nights.

* Headaches – Toxic headaches as the level of alcohol throughout my system drops

* Muscles aches – The body stores toxins in the soft tissues. Now that my body does not have to deal with toxins I am immediately ingesting, it can get to work eliminating the toxic backlog.

* Nausea – As soft tissues begin to release toxins back into the blood stream to be eliminated, I feel “a bit rough”, like a hangover.

* Drinking Dreams – My psyche processing all that is occurring.

* Itching – The skin is such a fantastic organ, it allows the toxins to be pushed out right through it. How clever is that! How itchy is that!

* Sore Jaw – Sensory changes in the Cranial V (Trigeminal) dermatome which also includes itching (Pruritus) across Frontal, Maxilla and Mandible. Bless my neurotransmitters.

* Sweating – This mornings symptom – continuing the very clever expulsion of toxins. Big love to my Lymphatic System.

Honestly though, what a fantastic system. Constantly striving for Health. I am Blessed smiley.

Going Teetotal

Teetotal Journey Posted on Tue, August 28, 2018 12:36:50

I have been toying with the idea of Teetotalism seriously for a few years now and have had periods of abstinence in the last five years with the longest spell being 9/10 months in 2015.

A little background for context:

I have drunk regularly for 25 years, often in an unhealthy manner, particularly in my youth. A modicum of sensibility ensues with the arrival of children but a different drinking scenario arises. Sensible hardworking mummy deserves wine of an evening. The wine consumption steadily creeps up until we are either constantly thinking about drinking or moderating or stopping. I have given away too much of my precious time to the first two options and am now stopping. For good smiley

To start this journey, I also started another; Walking the South West Coast Path. Exercise is fabulous for clearing the mind, seeing things clearly, motivation, releasing and moving out toxins – the list is endless…..really. Suffice to say that the walking really spurred me on and the last alcohol was taken (after Johns Birthday and four of the sections complete) on the 16.08.2018. I arrived home from our holiday alcohol (and smoke) free. And so begins the detox. Happy days smiley
